There is a particular kind of listening that can help bring the client closer to their core self. That level of resonance is possible in the depth of conversation, the exploration of dreams and the free associating done in the privacy of a therapy session.

Centre for Training in Psychotherapy

I come to the work of psychotherapy through seven years of training and many years of personal therapy. I’'ve done community work and teaching at all levels, and I continue to write fiction and poetry. The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy has been the crucible for finding my self as a therapist. Particularly through the process of group psychotherapy I’'ve come to know the usefulness of psychodynamic interaction.

As a teacher I worked with non-verbal students living with autism. I’ve become attuned to the many ways that communication can take place. I can offer this understanding to clients, some of whom may come from families where a close relative is living with autism or developmental delays.
