Psychotherapy is about care and deep communication with another person who is trained to listen in a particular way and who will accompany you in discovering a sense of resilience and healing. I look forward to hearing from you and being part of your journey.

Experiencing life crisis or suffering a sense of alienation are issues that affect us deeply. The resulting pain and confusion may offer an opportunity to question one's life, and can often initiate the decision to seek therapy. Within an evolving therapeutic relationship, one has the rare freedom and support to explore the experiences and challenges that have brought them to this moment in their life. This private space, free from judgment and expectation, offers the possibility of healing and transformation.
My work is guided by the uniqueness of each individual and the therapeutic relationship that is developed. The decision to enter therapy takes courage, but the capacity for self-reflection and the evolving sense of security, and stability in one’s self and with the outside world can be incredibly rewarding. I am trained in, and work with PTSD, developmental trauma, and issues arising from childhood neglect or trauma. Therapy provides the opportunity to work with unprocessed memory, and enhances or develops resources to meet the challenges and joys of life.
Therapy provides the foundation for understanding unconscious influences, the language of your dreams, the capacity for self-regulation and the skills to live a life that feels authentic. Working through the process of grief with an ally can be a deep relief, as is the support in being with the unknown. Fostering resources to live more mindfully in the present, so as to break the negative cycles of the past, develops a sense of self and promotes resilience. Therapy is a profound journey and the importance of choosing a therapist is very significant. A sense of safety in this relationship allows great possibilities and can help you live a richer and more meaningful life.
Thirty years as a registered massage therapist influenced and shaped my decision to begin my training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at The Centre for the Training of Psychotherapy (CTP Dip). I am a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT) and a registered psychotherapist and have been in private practice for more than twenty years. I am currently pursuing Certification for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in the treatment of trauma, structural dissociation and relational injury.
