Do you sometimes wonder if life is meant to be fuller and more deeply satisfying than it feels today? Less confusing or overwhelming?

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile page.

Most of us sense an impulse to change from time to time, change that may become part of a transition leading to a more rewarding life. Often the transition occurs seamlessly; still, occasionally we may feel the need for change in a much more pressing way, such as through symptoms of depression or anxiety. Then it can even seem as if our life itself is calling to us to listen to its unmet desires. Boredom, a vaguely restless feeling, illness, a recurring dream, a sense of unhappiness or of being stuck, or a simple desire to become more oneself, these signals tell us we may be entering a new phase with its own special needs. I see them as an invitation to take a closer look at ourselves. They are like a door opening to the possibility of a deeply connected and fuller experience of life.

Several important changes have been part of my own life too. Building on a background in conflict resolution, I am now working also with mild to moderate cases of parental alienation. In addition, I work with people regarding psychodynamic aspects of cancer. At an earlier stage in my process of self-discovery, when I was a geologist, I used to look for the unique in each rock. Now, as a psychotherapist, I accompany people as they seek to encounter the nature and source of their own inner wealth and to weave those valuable ores into the real fabric of their life.

Everyone, you too, has an inner compass that informs the course of therapy and is a bridge out of therapy to the future; my part is to help make it visible and to provide a supportive and safe atmosphere for your journey of personal exploration.

If I start therapy, what can I expect?

People’s unique circumstances hold the key to healing and positive change. Ideally, therapy is a forum where people learn to value themselves so they can live their life in a more deliberate, understanding way. Small changes create bigger ones; as a familiar self-perception grows and widens, a sense of well-being begins to develop, affecting every area of life.

I’m a traditional psychotherapist, with a strong regard for mind-body communication. Psyche and nature complement each other; they are the inner and outer aspects of one’s felt experience. In my understanding, all therapeutic work aims at bridging inner and outer dimensions. Our sessions will usually consist of conversations, inflected with a mindful attitude. You may wish to bring a dream and, in addition, a range of expressive, creative activity is available to you; many people find a mixed approach like this helpful. Yet the most important element in therapy is the relationship that therapist and client develop together. For this reason it’s important to make a commitment to your process and I commit to being present to you.

… There, you’ve accomplished one of the most difficult steps already! Open the door a little farther. Won’t you come in?
