About My Practice

Individual Therapy: Life and the relationships we form have a way of launching feelings and experiences our way that we're not always prepared to handle. Guilt that haunts our past, buried beliefs that enhance anxieties, or despair that paralyzes us from moving forward can all create a tangled web of negative behaviours, feelings, and thoughts. The way you live and approach your life can be shifted into a more positive direction to allow you to increase your self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-awareness. Relational psychotherapy is about providing you with a safe, empathetic space to share, be heard, and be understood.

Couple Therapy: Every relationship requires work. We are all individuals with different backgrounds, beliefs, past experiences, and perspectives. It's natural for even the most fulfilling, strong couples to experience speed bumps. But sometimes, differences or situations cannot be resolved between two people. Seeking the help of a therapist may be required to uncover the root causes of a conflict, encourage communication, restore intimacy, and reconnect as a couple. Couple's counselling helps you make sense of the issues plaguing your relationship, learn to listen to one another, and create and implement a plan to restore your connection in a healthy way.

About Me:

Clarinda Brandao brings an intuitive approach to her clients. For over five years she has worked with individuals and couples, helping her clients restore self awareness, regain confidence, and renew relationships within their lives and with themselves. A compassionate listener, she delves deep into the individual core to build a strong foundation for personal growth and meaningful connections. Becoming self-aware is an integral step in the healing process. Clarinda has an innate ability to bring clients out of their shell and into a safe space where they can begin learning about and mending themselves and their relationships - both romantically and platonically.

A Registered Psychotherapist and Counselor, Clarinda is a graduate of the Toronto Institute of Relational Psychotherapy's intense three-year relational psychotherapy program and a member of The Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT). A relationship expert, Clarinda specializes in couples therapy, marriage counseling, and parenting counseling. Through a blend of professional and personal experience, she helps clients identify problem areas and provides new tools to communicate effectively while regaining healthy connections - not only with one another but also with themselves.

With a background in public speaking where she hosts talks and workshops on parenting and relationships.

A passion for guiding others to improved self-acceptance, healthy relationships, and positive social functioning drives Clarinda, not only in her professional practice but in her daily life. A regular volunteer with families, groups, and individuals at numerous non-for-profit organizations, Clarinda is dedicated to helping her surrounding community.

Having a positive work-life balance is something Clarinda wholeheartedly believes in. Weekends and holidays are dedicated to her passion for photography, exploring the outdoors, and, when her schedule truly allows, international travel.
