A successful therapy is marked by emotional growth, more satisfying relationships, and a greater ability to cope with life’s inevitable challenges.
I am trained in both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy, and work with individuals on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationships, sexuality and fertility/infertility.
Psychotherapy is a way of exploring what doesn't feel right - of understanding at a much deeper level those things that seem to get in our way time and time again. It is a means to facilitate change in your life, and an important part of that process is the discovery, and celebration of, your strengths.
Anxiety, depression, underemployment, and chronic states of despair, loneliness and anger are all telltale signs that there is more going on than we know. I draw on my training in both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy to first understand a client’s current difficulties, then set treatment goals so that the real work of therapy can begin. If we take the time to know ourselves – to know why we think what we think and feel what we feel – we make informed choices that lead to lasting change.
My practice consists of individual adults and adolescents over the age of 16. I have experience with clients from all walks of life, with a variety of religious and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations and political views. I work with each one as a unique individual.
My office is centrally-located at the corner of Carlton and Jarvis. It is close to both subway and streetcar and there is ample street parking available.
I offer sessions by telephone and Skype for those clients who cannot make it in to my office for a variety of reasons: accessibility issues, distance, scheduling difficulties, or childcare, to name a few.
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. - Maya Angelou
