There are lots of things we can accomplish by ourselves. We can self-educate, self-define, self-heal and self-administer. Only problem is that we only have our own perspective and own knowledge-base when we do it on our own. Another dilemma is that as human beings, we are meant to communicate: to be ‘in relation’. We generally form groups known as families, belong to associations or teams, live in towns and cities and have relationships within social and work circles. So, to believe that we have to ‘work out’ and ‘deal with’ something as important as questions around our feelings, thoughts and behaviours on our own is contrary to many of the aspects that make us what we are as people. Having someone listen, reflect, witness, broaden and deepen our innermost concerns can help bring about clarity. If that person is also a trained and experienced psychotherapist then that experience will open many new perspectives around our deepest and most troubling concerns.

In the safety of my office and confidentiality of our work, you can bring in all of the pieces that make up you. Whether you have a concern around how you are relating with others, why you can’t seem to bring about change or how you ended up in the situation you are in: we can explore all of the feelings and thoughts that you know about yourself and some of the things you may not have considered.

If you are ready to consider change happening in your life then this is the time to consider psychotherapy.

My extensive and thorough background in psychotherapy is complemented by over 30 years experience in the performing and visual arts. While my practice is by no means exclusive to those working in the arts, I do have a broad base of experience to deal with issues that occur within these areas, such as:

  • creative/writer’s blocks
  • performance anxieties
  • confidence issues
  • body-image issues
  • depression
  • obsessive-compulsive disorders
  • narcissism
  • self-medication/addiction through alcohol/drug/food/other abuse

My creative background and experience enable me to respond to the unique person that is you.

I work with individuals and couples, age 18 and up.

I offer a ‘no fee’ 60 minute introductory session so that you can see if I’m the right therapist for you.

Remember, it is contrary to who we are as humans to have to deal with issues regarding thoughts and feelings on our own: talking about it is the first step towards change and by talking you are communicating.
