Regulation of Psychotherapy

Since 2005, CAPT has been an active participant in the process of regulating psychotherapy in Ontario. We have sent many submissions and responses (see below) to the transitional Council and to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and our voice has been taken seriously and thoughtfully. The response of the Ministry to our concerns has given us confidence that the regulation process will be beneficial to all – both clients and therapists.

The official date for the proclamation of the regulation of psychotherapy in Ontario will be sometime in 2015. We will keep our Ontario members up-to-date.

Answers to frequently asked questions about application to the new College are available on the website of the transitional Council and in our members' Forum.
